ABout ME

Ezra McGinley-Smith is a photographer and filmmaker with a background in documentary, sports, and community-based storytelling. Originally from Hanover, New Hampshire, he is currently a freshman at Colorado College, where he continues to develop his visual work across photography and film.
His work has been recognized through multiple awards, including first- and second-place honors in the Elden Murray Photography Competition (Under 18) in 2021 and 2022. His short films Willing Hands and The Water Ran Brown: The Story of the Elizabeth Mine received top awards in the Freedom and Unity Film Contest (2020, Social Justice Award) and the 2021 competition, respectively, with both films selected for broadcast on Vermont PBS.
In 2023, his collaboration with the Hanover Conservancy on their 60th anniversary project earned him the New Hampshire Fish and Game Youth Conservationist of the Year award. Ezra has also received recognition in local publications for his photography and has extensive experience creating visual media for sports teams, universities, local businesses, and nonprofit organizations. He currently works as a freelance photographer and filmmaker, focusing on storytelling that connects people, place, and purpose.
